Do you have a goal that seems out of reach? Are you just shy of reaching your goal over and over and don't know what to do?
1. Progress Counts—Even If You Haven’t Hit the Goal Yet
Getting close to your goal is still significant progress. Celebrate how far you’ve come rather than focusing only on what’s left to achieve.
2. Persistence Is Essential
The only way to guarantee you won’t reach your goal is to give up. Continuing to show up, create, and improve increases your chances of eventually succeeding.
3. Regular Evaluation and Adjustment Matter
Revisit your goals often. Assess what’s working, identify what isn’t, and be willing to tweak your approach through trial and error.
4. Motivation Comes from Within and Beyond
Setting meaningful goals can inspire you to keep going, especially when you remember the impact your work has on others as well as yourself.
5. Learn from Your Process
Every step, including setbacks and near-misses, provides valuable experience and insight that moves you closer to your goal.
6. Celebrate Small Wins
Recognize and appreciate incremental achievements. These moments build confidence and keep you motivated for the next step.
7. Don’t Be Afraid to Adjust Your Path
If you find you’re off course, it’s okay to recalibrate. Adjusting your strategy is part of the process, not a failure.
8. Seek Support and Inspiration
Look for advice from those who have already achieved similar goals, and don’t hesitate to reach out for encouragement or guidance.
9. Keep Your “Why” in Focus
Remind yourself why you set the goal in the first place. A strong sense of purpose helps you push through discouragement.
